1361328 2013-12-08 20:48:00 ^ 51k for your normal spec R34 GTR.

Vspec, is the one in question. No stone chips. No streaks on the glass, immaculate.

I asked before and it seems to be in the to hard basket, or has someone been caught out- it was stated by cobra74 :
I think you're missing the point, the only mods that car has are the wheels which are worth at best $3k with wheels and tyres.

Yet in the actual article it states:
a Nissan R34 GT-R V-spec Model, was worth about $65,000 after the extensive modifications he had made.

So changing the wheels is considered extensive modifications these days ?

1361330 2013-12-08 21:01:00 Edit: the 51k GT-R that sold, was a bone stock base model. Not the V-spec. Non optioned and Silver (boring) Blackv (17202)

Extensively modified? Not really. It had a full nismo kit, as well as a good tune, and some rare/expensive parts.

It's a sort of car that is nearly MADE to be modified. However, even with these "extensive" mods there is a written valuation at more than the sums insured of the vehicle.

1361332 2013-12-08 21:04:00 Furthermore;

The wheels in question are worth 6.5k (wheels only, no tires)

Extensively modified? Not really Sweet so both Cobra and the article are full of it, and both actually incorrect.

1361334 2013-12-08 21:08:00 My mistake I was assuming from exterior mods only, I have no idea what has been done to the car, I was simply correcting the 'How much he must have spent to buy a bodykit and paint it' etc. From the outside all I can tell is it has TE37's and its been lowered (Maybe?)

At the end of the day insurance has agreed to a value of $70,000, by all means ring a big insurance company and tell them how wrong they are because you know lots about cars.

In your opinion its a worthless car, but in real world facts it does have quite a high value. If you don't like it thats fine, the world would be boring if we all liked the same car.

The article is not incorrect as such. Extensively modified can be up to the readers (in this case, the writers) interpretation of modified.

My idea of extensively modified would be time attack sort of aero dynamics, wide body, roll cage, stripped interior 500+ WKW.

1361337 2013-12-08 22:11:00 The oz Victorian state govt had a ad on TV showing girls giving boy racers in their car the the little curled finger salute denoting a small dick.
I guess they try and make up what nature denied them by owning stupid ricie cars.
Conversely I own a 1999 Ford Ka.
