1377135 2014-06-14 00:02:00 Hi all.

Now I've got my Netbook working well I'm back on my laptop problem.

I've reloaded XP Pro and have no sound, wireless and can't remember how to change screen resolution. Getting used to 7 and Linux and getting old...

Can some please advise how I can update the drivers?

I've search Panasonic's website, but gave up. Did a Google and same result.

:thanks

1377136 2014-06-14 00:11:00 On Panasonic Site - Driver downloads, select individual drivers button - Fill out the drop down boxes as required :) www.panasonic.com

Changing screen Resolution, right click screen, properties, Setting Tab - Move slider as required. ( helps if graphic drivers are installed first they should auto adjust to best)

1377138 2014-06-15 05:52:00 Finally got the wifi to work, but each time I try to load drivers for sound card, gets BSD.
So gave up and put away, for another day.
Tried about 5 or 6 different Linux and couldn't get any to work, on wifi.
I can plug into internet, but whole reason to have laptop, is not being plugged in.
What I do have is an issure on my netbook, Acer Spire One running on Xubuntu version 4.10.
Problem is if I put lid down and reopen it asks for password.
I put it in and asks again, about 3 or 4 times then black screen.
I have to down power and restart.
It used to have the Power icon on the start bar, but thqats gone, so have no idea how battery running when unplugged/.
Can someone explain, in simple laungaue, as only my secon week, using it.

1377139 2014-06-15 07:47:00 HI, I don't use xfce myself but from memory and a Google search I found this which shows how to add items to the panel (for your battery indicator)
sites.google.com

the power manager in xfce appears problematic from what I have read.
can you disable sleep on close in the power manager?
(once you get the battery icon back it is available by right clicking it I think, otherwise in settings?)

but I think it may well be a bug in xfce or xubuntu itself
Perhaps try their forum?
