1361971 2013-12-07 21:08:00 Trying to type something into wife's email providers', Hotmail and GMail, on this PC, her PC is fine.

Get as far as the Subject line, entering something here is okay, then try to type something into the response area and nothing, cursor disappears as well.

Perhaps she doesn't want me talking to my girlfriends through this PC, lol. Not funny as there are a lot of Competitions' going and we kill two birds without having to boot up two machines.

Lurking.

Ps. did not get a satisfactory answer from : Hotmail post 22 October 2013.

Pps. no problem with IE8, so there has to be something in FF25.

lurks.

1361973 2013-12-07 21:32:00 Had the exact same problem last week with a customers PC ( only one of many problems) , This here sorted it (productforums.google.com). Sites worked fine in IE after that, but FF still played up. wainuitech (129)

Doesn't that link resolve an IE issue rather than a Firefox one??

1361975 2013-12-07 21:45:00 Have you tried installing Chrome or Safari to see if the same issue exists there? johcar (6283)
1361976 2013-12-07 21:57:00 Yep it fixes IE. Theres quite a few of people I see and get calls from complaining about FF doing or not doing things it used to. It seems the more they change it, it always seems to effect something else along the line. More people are changing Browsers and using either IE or Chrome, and dumping FF.

An example was on Thursday, had a lady call, her bank site wouldn't open in FF, it worked fine in IE or Chrome, it did work in FF until the last update she said.

This is the exact reason why I gave up on FF as my default browser at home and went to Chrome. I found many things (including the add-ons) just stopped working whenever FF did an update...

At work the official browser is IE8, but you are allowed FF - although you aren't technically allowed to install add-ons... I have installed FF at work (because IE8 is such a dog), but really wish there was a way to install Chrome without the IT nazis finding it. They are VERY hot on ensuring there are no 'Chrome infestations' on the LAN...

1361978 2013-12-07 22:48:00 I think you'll find its not so much Chrome they are concerned about, its more to do with the "collecting personal data" that Chrome sends back to google. Mind you all browser do that to some degree. wainuitech (129)
1361979 2013-12-07 22:51:00 I think it also has/had something to do with the amount of traffic on the LAN with the browser calling home and checking for updates. Although this has been mitigated now by the fact that there is an enterprise version of Chrome available - but, once bitten, twice shy.... johcar (6283)
