1480007 2021-08-24 10:12:00 I have decided to take a Mental Health day tomorrow. I will get up early and go for an hours walk around 6.30am. Come home to breakfast then settle down with a good book and do nothing else for the rest of the day.

Darn, when I think about it, that's what I have been doing for over a week now!
Never mind, it was a nice thought. :)

1480010 2021-08-25 07:13:00 I thought you had to do some crazy on those days like streak down your street, or tell the Mongrel Mob you hate Jacinda. gary67 (56)

Haha, I saw her visiting next door yesterday as I was in garden, she stopped in her car, in her red hat etc and I told her exactly that.
She laughed...........she apparently had voted for a small obscure party last time.

They don't all like her you know...

1480012 2021-08-26 00:50:00 I considered having a mental health day, but on reflection, a mental health 20 minutes is probably a big enough step up. I'll try and spread that 20 minutes over a week though. Near enough.. R2x1 (4628)
1480013 2021-08-26 01:03:00 Where I used to work, they took a dimm veiw of workers taking any more than 10 minutes for lunch. eat you sandwich at your desk & back to work .
Our ~official~ lunch break was an hour , no one took that . There was no lunchroom .

I got p%%sed off at the mild harrasment of me taking 15-20minutes for a lunch break, so I started going for a lunchtime walk for 3/4 - 1 hour.
That Lunchtime walk did wonders for me. And I got some good dayly exercise :)

That lunchtime walk was a good metal health break.
If you need a whole day, then there are some real issues that a mental health day wont really fix .

Easy to joke about this sort of thing, but Ive seen the effects a toxic workplace or never ending workplace stress can have on people .

1480014 2021-08-26 08:11:00 I go upstairs for my half hour lunch which my dragon makes for me at home and I nuke it in the microwave. Only problem is if they need me they come up the stairs to get me half way though lunch.
My response is what you would expect F off sometimes I throw stuff at the intruders Then they say well its bla bla important customer or even worse the customer will wait for you to finish lunch so you have to wolf down lunch. Its totally unfair because I am the only one who brings my lunch the rest of them go off to one of 60 food places in Lincoln road and come back half an hour later.

1480015 2021-08-26 20:44:00 One place I worked in Nelson had a sign on the door that read "we do not accept visitors or deliveries between 10-10.15 and 12-12.30" it worked 99% of the time gary67 (56)

So instead of being a **** to your staff, take your microwaved meal out and eat in a park or something.
