1479931 2021-08-21 10:26:00 With Lotto only available to those with online accounts, should the sale of such be postponed until everyone has a chance to purchase a ticket.

All Lotto retailers are currently closed under this Covid-19 Level 4 lockdown.

Is that fair?

What percentage of Lotto tickets are sold through retailers?

What percentage of Lotto tickets are sold online?

1479932 2021-08-21 20:20:00 What are you suggesting Zippity, that someone dumb enough to spend a fortune on lotto tickets in a retail shop is too dumb to go on line to do so :) CliveM (6007)
1479933 2021-08-21 21:32:00 Fair?? Who doesn't have access to the net these days, bugger all people. And gambling isn't exactly and essential service anyway.
Lotto is a con

1479936 2021-08-21 23:24:00 It's easy to setup an online account. I did for last year's lockdown. paulw (1826)

If People want to play Lotto they will find a way.

The biggest differance is On line you have to provide your details before purchases, where as in a shop you only have to provide payment (of some description).

BUT When buying anything on line you need to enter personal details, and I think places like The New Zealand Lotteries Commission would be a LOT more secure and private than some places.

Online in one way is better: Have a read- Esp the part Security and Notification www.gambling.com

1479938 2021-08-22 00:10:00 Sadly, there are a lot of people (mainly the elderly) who cannot or do not have access to online betting.

They are being discriminated against.

Lotto NZ don't care a damn about them. They just want to pull in the elusive recreational dollar as fast as they can.

I would like to see a reply from either Lotto NZ or Lotteries NZ - but they are too gutless to reply.

.

name 4.
I know tons of elderly who have variously: tablets, laptops, PCs, phones, some all of them.

Even my mum has a tablet, she's 89....not that she gambles.

As for the stats, go look it up, lotto do publish that info for those that care to go look.

...or maybe they're too busy laughing at your 'discrimination' comment.

What next? You gonna play the mental health card? That's always popular.
