Israel's amount of daily/weekly infections is the highest now since covid started. deaths are right up there to. people are dying just as much now than at the start.
the problem is they they are still only in the 60-70% range for vaccinations. its simply not enough.

So, its NOT OK to give the vax to those most at risk I guess.
NOT OK to give the priority to the old, the sick, doctors nurses, the poor , those with other risk factors eg diabetes , races more likely to have issues
Should also be a priority access code for PI's 		1101 (13337)
1479819 2021-09-07 01:10:00 the problem with vaccinating certain hesitant groups is not really a race thing, often more of an education and poverty issue.
no special code is going to solve that. they really need to be thinking about going to them rather than expect them to come in.
frankly its better to get more done quicker than slow down trying to deal with those groups.
for any special group they should have been done early on. its way to late in the ball game to do special groups now. 		tweak'e (69)
1479820 2021-09-07 03:12:00 Having gone to school with, worked with, learned a lot from and competed against a great number of Maori over my quite long life time in Ardern's words " I totally reject " any suggestion that they lack the intellect to understand the implications of vaccination or anything else for that matter. It is IMO racist to suggest otherwise. Sure they have their share of vocal radical idiots as does any segment of our population but the vast majority just want to get on and live their lives as does anyone else. CliveM (6007)
1479821 2021-09-07 06:24:00 I dont how this happened but PI who are very recent immigrants compared to some of us White people who came in the 19th century now have favoured race status over us Whites. My ancestors came to Nelson 1840 on the ship Will Watch. The PI arrived in 1960s. I give Maoris first nation status even if they killed the people here before them but I reckon the PI have queue jumped and we Whites are in the far queue. prefect (6291)

Haraia Bowen-Hakaraia remembers the moments before an attack over the weekend, when he was beaten, racially abused and robbed as he cowered in his car at a Levin intersection.


Bowen-Hakaraia said he slowly drove on, confused as to what was happening, before the vehicle pulled up beside him at a nearby intersection, the two strangers inside it screaming abuse out the window.

The driver then pulled in front of Bowen-Hakaraia's car, stopping the vehicle in a lane of traffic to block him before jumping out and approaching him.


"What's that on your face?" he said the stranger yelled at him, referring to his tā moko - then calling him a f***ing black c***" and a "n*****" as he inflicted punch after punch for what seemed to him like five minutes.

"He steps away as if to tag team and the other one comes in for what felt like five minutes," Bowen-Hakaraia said, adding that the first man then returned to the window and had another go.
