308685 2004-12-29 21:11:00 I have a computer problem that is really bad........when my computer boots up, it says:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\system is either missing or corrupt..........

The computer won't boot up in any modes (safe, normal etc).

The OS is Win XP Pro.

Any Ideas ???

308686 2004-12-29 21:18:00 This means your registry is shot/corrupted.

You can recover it (in some cases) or you'll need to reinstall.

Good tutorial: www.digitalwebcast.com

Google for C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\system will give you more info.

In my experience this is often caused by bad RAM so try getting Memtest86 and checking the RAM.
