| 309289 | 2004-12-31 12:31:00 | Hi, please help! I have been trying to connect my sisters Epson Cx3100 usb printer - (that used to work before a virus attacked,) used the setup disk to install - but theres no communication between pc & printer. i have Win Me usb enabled. its been set to lpt1 port, regardless of how I try to get it to accept usb. It did work before virus, it is a multi function, scanner and photocopier works, but get error message every time I try to print, to tell me to check connection or printer not turned off etc. All help gladly accepted. TIA | supergran (108) | ||

| 309291 | 2005-01-01 09:05:00 | Did you completely uninstall the printer from Windows, unplug it and reinstall the software before replugging it back in? Yes, I did, more than once over a 9 hour period of trying to get it going, and at around 3am this morning, we finally cracked it. I finally managed to get it to work by reading an old post on F1, and they suggested installing by windows install, rather than the install with the printer. Finally got it all working, except the scanner, but as the printer was priority, that is where I left it, as we still had 100 mile to travel home. But got phone call this morning, that after camera was installed, the scanner worked. Don't ask me how, but something worked. So if you have an Epson printer, or three in one, and you have problems, try installing through windows install, not the cd that comes with the product. |
