309284 2004-12-31 13:19:00 Hi Lisamarie1, Welcom to PressF1.

While I havent had this problem myselfe, a couple of things occure to me. 1 Does this toolbar have a name? If it does try looking for it at Google. http://www.google.co.nz/

2 Have you installed any new software lately? Some programs come with these things, not from any reputable company though.

3 Download and install Spybot Search and Destroy. It is a [free] program that catches many of these things. It is used, and recommended by many on this forum. Spybot S&D also prevents many of the changes that these vermin make when installing themselves on a computer. Get it here.

309288 2005-01-01 19:38:00 The icons on the desktop I can help with - I deleted those from my mother's PC yesterday. Have you installed or uninstalled incredimail lately? My mother thinks they showed up after she uninstalled it.

Boot the pc to safe mode (usually F8 when it is starting).
Go to control panel and folder options, view. Under the hidden files folder, make sure that it is set to show hidden files and folders.
In windows explorer go to c:/documents and settings/all users/application data. There will be a folder with a strange name - about 4 words I can't remember. Delete the folder with it's 3 or 4 files.
