308974 2004-12-30 19:50:00 Hi,
My first post here since the changeover.
I have installed Thunderbird. I have not made it the default.
I can send from it but not receive.
I don't want to make it the default until I know it is doing everything it should.
Then I wondered if that is why I can't receive through it because it needs to be the default.
Pauline.

308975 2004-12-30 20:11:00 You sure you've specified the correct Pop3 server? Did you use "Import" to get all your mail settings across or did you manually re-enter the details?

Tried sending yourself mail?

Cheers

308977 2004-12-30 20:28:00 Hi Chill,
Yes I imported.
I just sent mail to myself & got it.
Avg said there was new mail in Local Folders.
I had to click on 'Get Mail'.
I thought it would go straight to the Inbox like OE.
Thanks
Pauline.
Ninja,
Yes settings are OK.

It does. Something is wrong somewhere but as I don't actually use this program myself I am unable to make any suggestions other than maybe uninstall and reinstall and try setting it up manually rather than importing your mail settings if no one else can offer other help.

308980 2004-12-31 08:27:00 Hi Johnboy,
I got what I needed from the Mozillazine link you gave. I had to check áutomatically download new messages'.
You are a wealth of information.
Thanks
Pauline.

308981 2004-12-31 10:00:00 Pauline, are you saying that the reason you could not download your messages was because you did not click on the Get Mail icon on your tool bar.
It is always more reliable to control these sort of things manually rather than rely on automatic functions.
