309520 2005-01-01 08:19:00 I have installed a SB Live! card in one of my PCs to replace the dead onboard sound. As the case has front-audio-connectors (headphones and mic), I would like to connect them to the SB Live! card. The connectors are individual wires with a pin socket on them.

The SB Live! card only has a 40pin connector, with no pinout markings. Searching on Google shows that other people have the same issues, and that the pins only provide digital output.

Has anyone managed to work around this (other than wiring a jack socket out the back and plugging it in)?

I also would like to know how to connect front audio connectors to my soundblaster live card, these cards have a "live drive ir" connector socket for front panel controls, mic and headfones, so it must be just a matter of connecting to the wright pins, does anyone know how to do this???

Unfortunately it's not a pin issue as the pinouts are all digital from what i've read. It seems we're stuck Mattrix....

309523 2005-01-08 11:28:00 From what I've been told, it seems that there is no way to connect the front jacks to Creative soundcards unless it's via the jacks in the back. Looks like Creative thinks we should use their proprietary LiveDrive instead. D. McG (3023)

309525 2005-01-09 00:30:00 My shop built computer had rear sosckets as per usual. The techie, usinf a blanking plate on the front, mounted two "Extension Leads" female at the front, ran them back thro the case, out of a hole in the rear plate & plugged them into the regular fitted sockets... Would this work for you ??? PJ Poppa John (284)
309526 2005-01-09 05:55:00 Yes, but it would require time and effort:) - I think that's the only option, so I'll have to get out some powertools and pay DSE a visit. somebody (208)
