309393 2005-01-01 02:13:00 Hi There!

I have some music on my harddrive that is stored as WMA, and when I go and burn them using Nero 6 they are burnt onto CD in this format. What I need to do (in order for me to play them on my stereo) is either convert them into MPEG or CDA.

Can anyone tell me how I can go about converting these files?

TIA,
Brian

309394 2005-01-01 03:52:00 The only program I know that converts a few formats is Jetaudio +. BUT it isnt free. You could try http://www.download.com and put something like convert wma to mp3.. under search.

I take it your stereo can play MP3's??? If it doesnt it wont play MP3's only CDA format.

309395 2005-01-01 04:08:00 Microsoft owns the patents on the WMA & WMV formats so it is illegal to make software to comvert these to other formats unless the software maker is licenced to Microsoft. Hence no freeware to do any form of conversion. i-gordon (962)

309397 2005-01-01 04:32:00 Try Apples iTunes for Windows, it can change WMP 9 format to it's own format, changing from there might be a better bet. Not going to be pretty though.
Just a thought and it's Free.

309398 2005-01-01 04:35:00 Yup according to www.nero.com
it should be included with 6.3 of Nero onwards.

If u have an earlier version the download is at the url above.

309399 2005-01-01 04:41:00 I think even if u use this plugin it burns as WMA. So, whatever you put the CD in, it would have to support WMA. This WMA disk option, is under Nero Express in Nero 6.6.0.3 Speedy Gonzales (78)
309400 2005-01-01 04:43:00 so did i...

But just use Media Player.
Go into it - get the songs you want, and just go to the 'burn' function, and away you go.

Just a quick Q, does anyone know if media player (i;m on vers 10) can burn MP3 cds?
Cheers

309401 2005-01-01 05:03:00 Do u mean burn mp3's to the cd so theyre mp3s on the cd Fergie??

I dont think so. Better to use Nero, if u want this.
