2005-01-04 05:55:00 | Have a look at PolderbitS. It seems to be a really good program for the purpose......... but it is shareware. Gives a 14 day free unlimited trial, which is pretty exceptional. If you use, or evaluate, please let me know what you think. Will probably use myself --- once I sort out my other probs !! | 309802 | 2005-01-04 07:42:00 | Thanks for all your help, friends. I have to get an adaptor to go from the stereo Mic out Down to the smaller Input plug into the Tin Box. Then I WILL give it a go. Robby, Have to use the stereo Mic Outlet, it is only a cheapy unit but it does have the record player on it, with a new needle. Godfather... & before you say it..... no I do not have to keep winding it up. :D PJ

2005-01-04 08:42:00 | Godfather... & before you say it..... no I do not have to keep winding it up. :D PJ I suppose you get MA to wind it up... I really do hope you mean "Stereo Headphone Out" and not as you state "Stereo Mic out" Mic(rophones) are inputs, not outputs...

2005-01-04 19:38:00 | I was in Hardly Normal yesterday and I saw a USB2 device that allows you to plug this into your stereo system and record in "good quality" It was about $145 from memory.. It by passes your normal sound card.. | paulw (1826) | |

2005-01-06 19:59:00 | Further to This subject. I gave it a go. Connected the Stereo Headphone outlet to the computer Blue Input. Turned stereo volume right down Put on LP. Finally settled for Audiograbber on the computer. Started it up, made adjustments, ticks & unticks. Started the LP & Bingo, raised the stereo volume to where I felt comfortable as per the recording volume bars, & let it go..Also able to play thro the speakers at the same time.. When it finishedI shut it down & went to My Music (XP) but it was not there. Did a "Search" & it came upok but said My Documents & Settings. To playback from there Brought up a "Jukebox" programme which is associated with Audiograbber. Sooooo, How do I get it to Copy to my Music & then to Media Player. Looked at mp but could not see how to copy the LP with it. Any Ideas??? PJ

2005-01-06 20:50:00 | Hello poppa john, unless you changed the folder in audiograbber to other than default, it will have placed your music in it's main folder, which can be found directly in C:audiograbber. Once you find it, you can easily move it, by using xp's helpers in the left hand colunm which appear when you click the file. I would suggest you create a new folder, move your musaic, and direct audiograbber to record to it, by changing it's default. open audiograbber, click settings, and browse to your new folder. You can get media to accept the folder by clicking file,'add to library', and 'add folder'. I have found in that media player sometimes wont reconise music in the 'my music folder' cheers,' Robby

2005-01-06 22:41:00 | Hi PJ. I followed the DVWorkshop suggestion : . Set up 2 separate folders within your 'my documents' folder and name them 'raw audio' and 'clean audio', or similar. You can then set the recording program to write tracks into the first folder ready for clean up and restoration work. When cleaned up these tracks will be transferred to the 'clean audio' folder ready for compiling into your choice of artist and tracks, and then writing to disc. This seems to be the cleanest work-around. | Scouse (83) | |
