I'm not too sure what the more limited free version will do though. |

| 309760 | 2005-01-03 23:11:00 | Well why not? :D I have a game or 3 that don't run under XP, so I plan to run them on 98/ME. Mike. rightclick on the icon of game>properties>compatability> run this program in compatiblitiy mode for win98/ME. or you could find the patch for the game and that may make the game work for xp, all my old games that i had for my win95 machine still work for my xp machine |

I haven't checked for patches - I'll try that (but I doubt it). I've got ME running on a second partition now though (everything runs fine so far, apart from NIS liveupdate problem which I mentioned in another thread). Mike. |

| 309762 | 2005-01-04 05:47:00 | YES.............I have JUST finished figuring out how to do this and succeeded on a system.........i used 'boot-us' as the 'third party FREE bootmanager' but didn't realise it could resize partitions, set active etc, (must fiddle around with it and test that out). Anyway I used partition magic to help this.......what I did: Install xp on C: first split drive into two partitions. format 2nd partition as fat32 and set as 'primary' copy win98 cabs to 2nd partition and set as active reboot system using 98 boot disk..... change to C: after booting with disk. enter folder containing cabs and type in 'setup' and run 98 setup/install reboot to 98 automatically after install..... install 'boot-us' and set up reboot only to find it showed xp but woulnd't boot to it so rebooted to 98 and used PM to 'unhide' xp partition........... reboot and all worked very well...............dual boot ........excellent |
