| 310364 | 2005-01-04 01:42:00 | Hmm yup I thought Vgasave was a program u downloaded. Its actually a non pnp driver :dogeye: Part of XP. So, I just found out in XP. Altho it's in the above entry in device manager, I also have the Nvidia drivers installed, and everything is fine. :badpc: |

| 310365 | 2005-01-04 01:59:00 | i use sp1 i heard from a few m8s tht sp2 messed up the comp i looked in device mangaer i cant find display adapters in the list it gives you is it somewere else, i found some recent errors in the event viewer the newest one was on the 1st of jan of 2005 saying the source was service control manager dont know wht tht is. i will have a look at that thread you gave me simple_si, thxs for the hlp | mickeyc (6724) | ||

| 310367 | 2005-01-04 02:21:00 | ok ive read tht thread and i will do what it says to do, however i have no idea wht type of motherboard i have :confused: does anyone know how i can find out , btw i tryed removin the card and reinstallin didnt work it just doesnt detect the video card i have a AMD xp2000 is there a specific board tht goes with tht chip or is there various chips for it? | mickeyc (6724) | ||
| 310368 | 2005-01-04 03:20:00 | The simplest way to find out the motherboard type would be to open the side of the case and read the name from there. Generally the number of the board is located somewhere around the PCI slots. Failing that you could try using a utility like SiSoft Sandra which you can download from here (www.overclockers.com.au) or the official site (http://www.sisoftware.co.uk) HTH |
