310235 2005-01-03 19:41:00 Codex, is it worthwhile for those of us who do not have broadband (i.e. dial up)?

Thanks.

310236 2005-01-03 20:48:00 It seems I can modify those values in Netscape too, but anyone know if it'll work, or will it make things screwy? Greg (193)
310237 2005-01-04 00:14:00 Steve_L. I gather it can make more of a difference on dialup. The only problem with it is that some web servers only allow a certain number of total connections so this method can limit the number of people connecting to a site at one time. mikebartnz (21)

310239 2005-01-04 00:57:00 No point in applying these changes if your using dialup. Murray P (44)
310240 2005-01-04 01:13:00 isn't the pipelining the same method used by download managers (split it into parts)? Edward (31)
310241 2005-01-04 01:15:00 No point in applying these changes if your using dialup.
why not?

310242 2005-01-04 02:57:00 Enabling more than the default number of four connections for pipelining if you use dial-up would be ridiculous.

I already have pipelining enabled on a dial-up connection, but adding that nglayout setting made Firefox go spastic. Not only did it lose the setting, but it enabled the update icon, which I had disabled.
