| 310152 | 2005-01-03 06:55:00 | Whenever i use the floppy drive for either reading, writing or trying to format a disc, the system locks up after a couple of seconds & needs rebooting to get things going again. The drive works normally in safe mode & with Linux. I know it's nothing to do with sp2 as it did it before I wiped the drive & did a clean xp install a little while ago. Any Ideas win xp sp2 fully updated Phil |

| 310153 | 2005-01-03 07:00:00 | You don't have your Antivirus software monitoring the floppy drive and being a bit too keen about it? Also have a look at Admin Tools > Event logs for any entries around the time of the lock up. | Jen (38) | ||
| 310154 | 2005-01-03 07:33:00 | Hello Jen. I just went through a sieze up. Nothing could be found in the logs. The thing freezes regardless of AV. I used to use NAV, I use AVG now. It seems to freeze up much quicker with a unformatted disc. |
