2005-01-05 01:12:00 | Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone has the December issue of APC and a scanner? There's a nice article in their I saw about linux "Linux Workshop part one?" on pages 98 and 99.. Now being a poor student and all, I couldn't afford the mag, and still can't.. And it looks weird me reading a magazine and taking notes in the supermarket. So, I was wondering if any kind soul out there might be able to scan those two pages and email them to me or something? Please let me know.. Thanks in advance!

2005-01-05 01:39:00 | Chilling_Silence: It was just a basic 'get to know linux' thing.. They're going to be doing a few in months to come aswell I think, but part one was just about prepearing your hard disks and things like that.. Hopefully now that Christmas is over and done with I'll be able to pul enough change together to buy the following ones they release. But for now, money is tighter than a nuns, thing.. ninja: You could look at it like that, I guess.. But it's linux, open source? Maybe? Ok, if anyone has this mag and doesn't need these two pages could they tear them out and send them to me.. Or even the whole mag if you're finished with it?

Been there done that, found heaps on the same thing but with MANY hundreds of different views and techniques.. And I really have this magazine article fetish, I like to keep things on paper, in folder tht remains almost un-touched.. |

2005-01-05 02:41:00 | Have a look at the APC web site (http://www.apcmag.com/). The article might be on line. It's not a bad price for a good magazine, anyway. They have a good selection of stuff on their cover CDs (now DVDs), and still under $10, like NZ PC World. :D I stopped buying the English mags when they reached $30.

2005-01-05 03:09:00 | Given that all APC have really done is taken freely available information and printed it on a glossy page, I wouldn't personally give a toss about their copyright. However that's no reason to go breaking copyright, and it's likely someone here could write a guide to getting your disk set up that would be just as good as (if not better than) the APC one.
