It is impossible to give you a correct speed because, say some one you know was exactly the same computer, and they overclocked it, you would most probably not be able to get the same speed out of it. |

| 310620 | 2005-01-04 21:50:00 | You could probably get it up to at least 600MHz, but no guarantees - there's a long story behind the clock speed that CPUs sit at by default, and it things such as it's temperature at certain speeds, the demand for certain clock speeds, tiny imperfections, and a whole lot of other stuff. | agent (30) | ||
| 310621 | 2005-01-05 02:43:00 | We can't really tell you. Every Celeron 500Mhz will have different overclocking capabilities. Some may go for a mile (like my P75 :p)... others won't even overclock. Your motherboard will also have an effect. I would say maybe 550Mhz-600Mhz is going to be the most you can get out of it. Trust me, it's not that much! | ~sy~ (95) | ||

Celeron 500 PPGA (Socket 370) Default Voltage: 2.0v Multiplier: 7.5 (multiplier locked) Bus Speed: 66MHz What to expect: 7.5 x 75MHz bus = 563MHz. Never overclocked a celeron 500 and it seems like they are lousy overclockers after a quick look around. Max seems to be around 600 if you are lucky with a decent board not worth the bother/ hardly noticeable performance increase |
