Test it yourself - drag your "my computer" Icon to the very top of the screen, as far as it will go and a small line form under it. Release it and you get the toolbar referred to. Left clicking on it and selecting "close toolbar" works (or should) so unsure why it doesn't for the poster. Why would you do that! (drag these things aout) Tried that G_F,right clicked it and unticked my computer and that did the trick.I may patent that ;) |

2005-01-05 20:54:00 | On mine you right click a blank space on the toolbar and click my computer and it goes. You could try sfc /scannow which is the windows file checker to see if there are damaged or missing files . Click start and in the run box type sfc /scannow there is a space after sfc it will ask for your installation disk if it finds any thing wrong. hth

2005-01-05 21:49:00 | Thanks johnboy. Unfortunatly sfc /scannow ran its course and came up with nothing. Rebooted & still there.

2005-01-06 02:09:00 | Yes, There is also my sons and guest account. Have checked them and the problem appears to only exist on my logon. | KiwiLinc (6595) | |
2005-01-06 02:44:00 | I would move or copy all your files and create yourself a new user account then remove your old one. that should fix it hth
