311508 2005-01-07 08:27:00 You mean you can't read binary? :D

If you google for a binary translator you will be able to read what PcNut has written. ;)
Assuming it is ASCII coding and not EBCDIC :D

311513 2005-01-07 14:12:00 Would those who are trialing this beta software mind telling me whether it is working ok alongside similar software you have on your computers?

Eg. Norton's got picky with AVG when I had them both at the same time.

I'm now using aVast which I have found to be very good, but I would also like to trial this new one at the same time and compare them, preferably without each of them fighting over residential protection.

Will be using etrust PestPatrols search site to check out what is found to make sure I remove the correct spyware etc.
Thanks :)

311515 2005-01-07 20:37:00 Metla - if you've never seen Giant mentioned before you must have been asleep somewhere. As a Giant user, I'd have to say it is pretty good but I fear what Microsoft will do with it, although I agree with some comments made by Leo Laporte that they should release it as soon as possible as a free upgrade.

Adaware SE is pretty good and Spybot is ok, although you have to wonder about the Spybot licence agreement and the dedication to the "the most wonderful girl on earth". How many licences agreements ask you to "say a prayer for me (and the most wonderful girl while you're at it ;) to your god - or whatever you believe - and wish us some luck".

311516 2005-01-07 20:47:00 Spyware detectors usually work ok with each other and anti-virus software generally doesn't .

I used avast for a while although it failed in the last VB100 award for Windows XP . virusbtn . com/vb100/archives/products . xml?avist . xml" target="_blank">www . virusbtn . com

I'll stick with Nod32 - in my view it's fairly comfortably the best anti-virus software .

311517 2005-01-07 20:51:00 Ive not used no antivirus software for the past 18 months or so...... Free's up system resources for better use ;)

This also prevents any potential conflicts that may be caused by running even one :p
