311214 2005-01-07 07:45:00 water cooling, hhmm, expensive if done right, expensive if done wrong, Prescott (11)
311215 2005-01-07 07:50:00 Well, today I installed an Athlon 64 3200 in an Asus board. Just the standard heat sink and PSU fan. And it doesn't need any more. I have a hole in my case for another fan , but I'm in no hurry to fit one.
My temp has settled on about 35 degrees, which is fine with me.
So I would say save your money.

311216 2005-01-07 07:54:00 have you tried to put the heatsink back in with better heatsink compound , this is a simple cheap solution and can have reduce your temp by a lot noone (22)
311217 2005-01-07 09:09:00 Don't expect much just from HS compound. With air cooling the answers are surface area ( adds weight, waste of time looking for a decent HS under 300gms) or airflow (adds noise, most "silent" fans sacrifice air flow).

First check that your MB doesn't have a rep fror misreporting temps. Many bios updates have changes to the temp reporting.
