311540 2005-01-07 02:15:00 Heya,

I have both a CD Writer and a DVD Writer in my PC.

I am wondering why I can store more data on a CDR using the CD Writer than I can on the DVD Writer.

The CD Writer will let me store approximately 720MB (avi) on a CDR, yet the same CDR in the DVD Writer will only let me store about 705MB.

Does anyone know why this would be?

311541 2005-01-07 02:32:00 It might depend on what program/s u use. They just do things differently Speedy Gonzales (78)
311542 2005-01-07 02:48:00 It depends on the physical limit of the CD-R.

If you have Nero, click on the Icon of a CD with an "I" in front of it and it will tell you how large the CD-R is.

AFAIK both should burn identically.

Chill.
