| 311081 | 2005-01-06 01:52:00 | using netscape 7.1 with win98 and am curious about sending mail other than in plain text - copied & pasted a text download which was nicely formatted in a large font where required, and well set out but when sent on arrived in plain text and frankly looked very ordinary - the only options appear to be plain or HTML - there must be a better way - anyone help me with this please | jayal (1291) | ||
| 311082 | 2005-01-06 02:10:00 | Many people do not like recieving email which isn't plain text. Even HTML is resented. It's all bloat. :D | Graham L (2) | ||
| 311083 | 2005-01-06 02:15:00 | Plain text = safe. But no formatting is carried. HTML = security risks. But it does convey some formatting. HTML is not plain text, it is rendered and it can contain malicious executable code. Many users now block it. Your only other option is to use a document format as an attachment (Microsoft Word or Rich Text Format, as examples) but the receiver needs the correct program to open the attachment. It also makes for a very large email compared to plain text. |
