| 311965 | 2005-01-08 07:23:00 | I have received an email with an 'xls' suffix file. When I try to open it I'm told that I do not have a program to open it with. I've always had a problem when that happens. Any help would be appreciated. thanks, black |

| 311966 | 2005-01-08 07:27:00 | *.xls is the file extension for Microsoft Excel. All you need is either to install Microsoft Excel or the Microsoft Excel viewer. You can get the Excel viewer here (www.microsoft.com) Hope that helps cheers chiefnz |

If you run Win95/98/98se/ME then try the older excel viewer which can be found here (www.microsoft.com). OpenOffice is really good, but it is a very large download if you are on dialup internet. Check out the cover disc's on computer magazines as often they will have a recent version of OpenOffice. |
