311854 2005-01-07 19:18:00 I know absolutely nothing about Raid.
I have one hard disk ,all in one partition. Would there be any advantage in trying to activate RAID???
My new M/B has raid and Sata Raid and raid 0 and raid 1.
Are they any use to me or should I just ignore them.

311855 2005-01-07 19:30:00 They are no use to you, unless you have two hard disks, as raid 1 mirrors two disks, and raid 0 spreds data between two harddisks and gives more room.

Raid stands for "redundant array of independent disks"

311856 2005-01-07 20:22:00 isnt raid combining 2 hdd's and seeing them as one? Prescott (11)

You could loosely describe it like that, but as mentioned there's more to it
