| 312837 | 2005-01-10 19:39:00 | Moved from New Zealand to the USA and came with my computer i brought from pc company. took a while to get the computer to run with different voltage and (mainly)modem problems but got it running just fine. BUT.... I tried to burn a collection of music with my atapi 20x10 writer and it did its usual fine job but then brought blank cd-r here and i have had sector errors on all attempts?!. The cd's i brought were 700mb and the first time i've ever used them. Usually i get 650 mb from warehouse in NZ and had few problems. Always with error-9 @ sector 32..... so forth. Tried using multiple burning programs and multiple brands of blanks but with same problem. Burning software are set to standards required mainly "use dimisions reported by disc" The burner actually starts the burn but then seems to fail at the "finalizing" stage.....the cd pops out and get report "Error 9 @ sector 32.....". I put the cd in my player and it actually player 17/18 songs...but put the cd back in computer and the computer can't read it.....tried to burn music, pictures and video..all with same result. No problems with my old 650mb cd's(Running low now) Thought about buying 650mb blanks here but no one has them?!..they all have 700mb + cd's I'm at a loss..please help. P.S all drivers are reported as the best available |

| 312838 | 2005-01-10 19:51:00 | What version of Windows, are you using keewee and how much ram have u got? And what programs have u used / tried?? Maybe your cd writer (what brand is the burner), cant handle 700 mb?? I would invest in a new one If u get sector errors all the time I would replace the cd's. BUT it could be the power still somewhere. Did you replace the power supply altogether?? |
