Everytime I boot win xp finds it and wants to load drivers.

Also in Device Manager it is shown under "Other Devices". Uninstalling or disabling it does nothing. It's back next boot.

Also in "Network Connections" I have an icon labelled "Local area connection 3". It has a red cross through it and it can not be removed. Clicking on properties tells me nothing.

These don't seem to interfere with the running of the comp. They are just annoying.

312646 2005-01-10 01:14:00 Your MB has provision for Serial ATA hard drives using a Silicon Image controller. If you don't have any SATA drives you could disable this in the BIOS. PaulD (232)
312647 2005-01-10 01:18:00 I have SATA hard disk.

312648 2005-01-10 01:50:00 Try reading your manual, apparently there are 6 SATA connectors (1 SI controller as well as nForce3 SATA). PaulD (232)

Actually there are only two SATA connectors. The other four are RAID-SATA.And have nothing attached.

312650 2005-01-10 03:46:00 Manual Section 4-21 Bios Options Silicon Image Mode [Raid Mode], you can set the SI controller to SATA mode, RAID mode or OFF. PaulD (232)
312651 2005-01-10 03:50:00 The "pseudo SCSI" probably refers to the RAID configuration. ATA-SCSI translation is pretty easy, so less likely to be buggy than RAID software maintained in various flavours for RAID. Some CD software was written for SCSI drives, and uses similar translators so it will work on ATA drives. Graham L (2)

I think I have it sorted now. I guess it doesn't pay to use default settings.

312653 2005-01-17 02:55:00 Hi

Could you tell me how you solved it ?
Just installed a firewire card in my computer and right after that (dont know if it is that, havent rebooted in long time, but most likely) I got the same thing and have no idea...

(sorry for bad english)

312654 2005-01-17 03:18:00 Hi Haardis,
I removed raid and fire wire in the bios settings.
I was pretty sure it was the raid that was bringing up the message.
But in your case it seems to be fire wire. Do you have it working? if it's working you shouldn't be getting the message. If it's not working either find a driver for if or disable it in bios. And check that you haven't enabled Raid.

I also got rid of messages from the card reader. I pulled the cable out!
