| 313019 | 2005-01-11 09:13:00 | Hi guys, Getting the above error in Outlook 2003 when trying to send email. Incoming email is no problem. ADSL connection and general access to the net is working fine. Only recent change to the system was a standard Norton upgrade and eldest son plugging new Playstation2 into the system. Any ideas? :help: |

This is the error you will get if you try to use the outgoing mail server of an ISP that you have not authenticated with, usually by being on their network. Check the account settings in Outlook and see what SMTP server it is trying to use. This should be something like smtp.your-ISP.co.nz. If not, try changing it to that. |

| 313025 | 2005-01-11 09:37:00 | If your ISP is ICONZ then mail.iconz.co.nz should be used as both your incoming and outgoing mail servers. If you still have a problem even with those set, then you definitely need to be on the phone to them. ;) It should be noted that ICONZ is one and the same as internet.co.nz. If you had your server set to mail.internet.co.nz this may have been the problem, but it shouldn't have to be mail.iconz.co.nz. |
