312957 2005-01-11 07:56:00 Is this a good deal or what? Has anyone used this burner from Dick S. and how did it perform? Cheers RayRay (644)
312958 2005-01-11 08:20:00 It would pay to phone the listed dse branches to see if they have stock. Newmarket had none when I visted last week. bachelorno1 (6556)
312959 2005-01-11 09:23:00 Is it a combo drive (do you need it to be), what other formats apart from RW +/- does it do, can it read other formats. Current RW drives are x16 but you'll pay more than $78 for them. Murray P (44)
312960 2005-01-11 09:49:00 If you can get Disc's locally that are faster than 8x burn then lemme know coz Ive not seen any more than 4x.... effectively making that part redundant.

Read speed perhaps, but how often do you needa read a whole DVD at once?!

Yar well I guess it was a bit of a throw away, as in what does 8x stand for? my drive has 16x which obviously relates to its DVD read speed, as the one above probably does. However, the specs also claim it will write DVD +-R at 16x, supported speeds 16x 4x 8x 4x 16x, whether that is actually attained I doubt and I can't be bothered to look back through the review tests. :yuck: (wish there was a normal : p poke it out emoticon ;) )

DSE DVD supported speeds 2.4x⁄4x⁄6x⁄8x

312964 2005-01-11 10:52:00 Ask them Ray Ray. Sometimes you can tell by looking at the manual or driver/upgrade files on DSE /whatevertheproductis /support webpage. Murray P (44)
312965 2005-01-11 11:08:00 Probably cyberdrive dvd writer
dse tends to use these rebadged.
