312814 2005-01-10 15:54:00 How do i turn my onboard video and sound off because i have new cards for both. do i have to do it manually thorugh the mobo or can i do it from the computer like through properties or something. DjReynolds3 (6759)
312815 2005-01-10 17:52:00 I would imagine you'd do that either by changing jumpers on the mobo or more likely from within the bios, probably on the integrated peripherals page.

The startup screen (where the memory is counted up and tested) will probably show how to get into the bios on your system.

312817 2005-01-10 19:41:00 I disabled my onboard audio by simply going into Device Manager (right-click on My Computer, Properties, Hardware, Device Manager) and disabled the audio device. (In the list, maximise the device, eg Display Adaptor, right click on the device and select Disable).

Your onboard sound should be found under Sound Video and Game Controllers. if you're unsure which is your onboard sound you'll find reference to it in your motherboard manual.

The above is assuming you use WinXP - it's helpful to advise which operating system you use. However Win9.x/Me is similar.

ive done this about 3 months ago, go to your device manager and add/remove panel in the control panel and remove any thing that has to do with your intergrated graphics, eg, drivers, and software to run your intergrated graphics, then shut down pc, insert card and boot up, windows will detect it and then install the drivers, and make sure you get the latest ones, im not sure what motherboard you have but on mine it automaticly used the agp card not the intergrated graphics, but there is a feature in the bios somewhere that will let you turn it off.
