313202 2005-01-12 03:33:00 I have usually burned MP3 files no problem to CD using Nero. However after a PC breakdown I backed up my music onto CD disk, then subsequently used Windows Media to facilitate the upload back to my hard drive.

I noted the files changed to WMA, and Nero doesn't want a bar of it!!! Nero will still burn MP3s fine.

313203 2005-01-12 03:50:00 What version of Nero have you got?? 6.6.x.x ? Also, does the WMA disc option appear under program files/nero/nero express/ Music menu??

I take it you want to burn WMA as is to cd?? I dont think the WMA option in Nero, converts WMA to MP3, then burns whatever to CD.

If the system crashed. Those files may just HAVE an WMP/WMA icon, the files may not actually be WMA files?? They could have defaulted back to using Windows Media player as the default player.

Whats it say under properties of those files?? MP3 or WMA?

313204 2005-01-12 07:37:00 If this is still a problemfor you you can use something like dbpowerAMP converter to convert the wma files back to MP3. Shortstop (632)
313205 2005-01-12 10:56:00 Personally I would suggest Goldwave, as it does batch conversions with ease between formats :) Small and free too! Chilling_Silence (9)
313206 2005-01-12 10:57:00 Are you sure its not the DRM in WMP/WMA thats preventing it? Chilling_Silence (9)
313207 2005-01-13 04:31:00 Hey thanks, I changed from Nero 5 to Nero Express which burns WMA no problem at all. Great result.

Tony.

313208 2005-01-13 04:37:00 Yup i think if u had/have 5.xx there is a WMA plugin u have to get from the Nero site. For it to work.

If u have 6+ the plugin is included in the install.
