313154 2005-01-12 00:26:00 My computer is running Windows 98SE, and I have recently downloaded the latest A. V. G. virus program, free version. However now about 50% of my e-mails are not sent and I get the following message

This is the AVG E-mail Scanner program.

313155 2005-01-12 00:32:00 I had that error I the only way I could remendy it was to disable scanning of outgoing mail beama (111)
313156 2005-01-12 00:36:00 Do you have outgoing message certification turned on? Try turning it off. It added some text as HTML to messages and that could cause problems ( could have been fixed in recent update). PaulD (232)

313158 2005-01-12 00:56:00 Disable the outbound scanning. Seriously if it didn't get it on the way in, it ain't gunna get it on the way out.

Most viruses use their own SMTP engine now anyway so aren't going to send via your mail program.

313161 2005-01-12 03:53:00 If you have Zone Alarm installed change the firewall setting from High to Medium Safari (3993)
313162 2005-01-12 04:00:00 Also in Zone Alarm - Email protection - Try with MailSafe Protection Off Safari (3993)
313163 2005-01-12 04:17:00 I found that disabling scanning also didn't help - I reinstalled minus the Email scanning.
Bye
