| 313106 | 2005-01-11 22:18:00 | I use MS Outlook 2000 for email. Often,JPG files i attach are getting detached somewhere enroute, or being bundled into a Winmail.Dat file which the receiver cannot open (Can ANYBODY open Winmail.Dat files? What are they) This does not apply in every case, mostly with recipients whose a/d is @Xtra (as is mine) The last occasion was an email with 4 attached JPGs, total 391Kb. Two @Xtra recipients recd the email with only a Winmail.Dat file attached, total 393 Kb, so about the same amount of data arrives. Its just useless! Any suggestions greatly appreciated. |

| 313107 | 2005-01-11 22:37:00 | Winmail.dat files are a crap proprietary file format munged up by Outlook. To fix the problem, change to a mail client that doesn't suck would probably be the best bet. www.pchell.com This should cover most of it. |

| 313110 | 2005-01-11 23:20:00 | I would advise carefully checking attachment and email settings in Outlook. Tools >> Options. I've been using Outlook for about 5 years both at home and at work. It does 'appear' to do strange things sometimes, but if it is set up properly it is a very powerful tool. It is possible that your issue is because of an attachment security option in Outlook 2000 (Outlook sometimes blocks/changes attachments it feels are unsafe. Hope this helps... |
