314123 2005-01-14 21:53:00 Xtra's help-desk just confirmed for me that it "has had, & still has, problems sending/receiving email this morning" (as @ 10 40am,15Jan).
They have a web site link "Current Network Status" For the past 2 hours it reports "There are currently no known problems with the Xtra Network." Could somebody with influence in that dozy-house wake the Current Status Manager up and give him/her some ACTION pills?

314124 2005-01-14 21:58:00 Thanks for that, I was wondering if it was my end.

I read the Network Status thing as well, and all was supposed to be well and thought "Yup, I don't know what I've done , but I've done it again". Also having trouble gettin into a few sites, Xtra included and google, but can get in to NZHerald and here.

Oh well, guess I'll just have to go outside and do the lawns.

314125 2005-01-14 23:53:00 Much discussion among network operators about this. It seems several of Xtra's DNS servers are out, coupled with some area outages on 0873 which is causing all the biffo this morning.

Apparently there voice state of the network message is up to date.

A good reason to move away from a crap ISP.

As for:

Could somebody with influence in that dozy-house
I hardly think there would be Xtra staff here reading this.

314126 2005-01-15 00:01:00 Apparently the Xtra website is up, but only thise with an ISP other than Xtra can view it. Which makes sense, given the previous comments. Murray P (44)
314127 2005-01-15 00:13:00 It's just disappeared from my network now, no longer responding. ninja (1671)

then i just hope Teresa Gattung is trying to get her email rt now. (The assumption is that Xtra is her ISP. Maybe not?)

314129 2005-01-15 00:24:00 Wasn't it the head of security and MS who recently let slip that he doesn't use IE?

Would surprise me if T. Gattung doesn't use Xtra.

These people know the quality of their products.

When "your" network, whichever it is, gets anywhere near the same number of customers how well do you think it will be performing?

What a noddy you are Ninja . Obviously in your humble opinion, no other ISPs have had outages . Pray tell, seeing as Xtra is (in your words) a "crap ISP" how many such outages have they had in say, the last year .

I await your most informed reply!
