1362794 2013-12-16 04:06:00 Our neighbours cat likes to spray on our front porch. Unfortunately I'm not fast enough to boot the cat. Any ideas to prevent this. Bullets have been suggested but have been decided not to be a good idea. plod (107)
1362795 2013-12-16 04:16:00 VitaPet Home & Garden Animal Repellent works well for us. About $5 at Countdown in a spray bottle. CliveM (6007)

1362799 2013-12-16 05:36:00 Ultimately? Catch it, neuter it, let it go.
Removing it forever doesn't work, once one tom cat disappears, the new one moves in.

The Pet Repellent stuff does work, they loathe it. Works on couches too - to prevent claw sharpening.

Anything ammonia based will encourage more pissing.

Yes, I agree, don't use anything with ammonia in. Anti cat sprays you can get at vets or possibly cheaper at Countdown. Or, you could rub down areas with lemon or mustard, cats don't like that either.

1362802 2013-12-16 08:58:00 A taser works quite well on cats and as a bonus the cat will aerate and de-moss your lawn on the way out. A quick zap of the pest owner helps them bond with their pet as they do the highland fling and a bit of break dancing together. R2x1 (4628)
1362803 2013-12-16 09:15:00 A sprinkler is quite effective and does no actual harm, maybe someone should invent a motion sensitive cat sprinker :)
I had a supersoaker for cat control at one point, that's kinda fun. gets so they recognise the pumping sound and scarper eventually. The repellant is probaly the simplest solution though.

My neighbour has several cats but they never came near the place because I had dogs, even though they couldn't get to half the section it still kept the cats away. It took at least 6 months after my lost dog died before they started coming around, silly thing is he was smaller than a cat. I see them around a bit now but they don't really bother me.
