Maps would show the offset from a magnetic compass to true north. This declination would increase over time. Yep, every chart Ive ever seen has shown a magnetic variation changing by so much per year. But I like the idea of changing the True Poles. :D That should stuff up every navigational system and have Planes, Ships and People in all sorts of problems. Oh the humour. :D |

The earths rotation has been moving around since day1. Anything spinning will have a slight wobble. So true. The sun does the same thing. Now they might have a bit of trouble blaming climate change on that. Are people really that stupid that they will believe every thing that they are told. Just try to think of the science (or lack of it) behind it. |

Not quite sure how that figures, Save face from what? it's pretty much the same point of view I always have in these discussions. I didn't dispute the movement of the poles, I don't know the truth of that claim one way or another. I just pointed out the cause is unproven. One of the things I find foolish is that the "greenies" try to get people to be nicer to the planet - essentially at least and yes there's a lot of flawed execution and selfish agendas mixed in but that's the central message that is put forth. When people argue against them it's the reasoning behind the message that they seize on, things like "climate change is a lie", "there is no global warming", "it's a natural occurrance and not man made" My message is - So what & who cares, it's little more than an interesting scientific debate with no actual impact on the planet, the reason is unimportant it's our actions that matter. Those that argue loudest against global warming seem to have an agenda of their own that has nothing to do with that and more to do with protecting their lifestyle. I agree though the climate change moniker is a total cop-out. Certainly the climate will change at some point if it's not already doing so, nothing stays static forever. Changing from Global warming to Climate change is like an Admission that no one truly knows what the hell is going on, just that change is happening. |

I argue against so called global warming and yet I have noticed I am a lot greener than most greenies. I will walk down town instead of jumping into my car and I recycle as much as I can. |
