1362804 2013-12-16 15:27:00 A taser works quite well on cats and as a bonus the cat will aerate and de-moss your lawn on the way out. A quick zap of the pest owner helps them bond with their pet as they do the highland fling and a bit of break dancing together.

That is the funniest thing I have read all week. Good effort R2x1.

1362805 2013-12-16 22:35:00 [QUOTE=dugimodo;1184689]A sprinkler is quite effective and does no actual harm, maybe someone should invent a motion sensitive cat sprinker :)

Already exists. I was looking at one at one stage but around $100 is rather a lot to discourage a cat.

Many years ago, we had the spraying problem from a neighbour's cat around the back porch. One day, I disturbed it from outside the house and it 'escaped' into the house. I gently herded it into the bathroom/laundry area and shut it in. I put on my motorcycle jacket, gloves and helmet and took to the cat with a broom, chasing it around the room. It literally tried to climb the walls. After a while, I let it go. Never had the problem again. You have to really imprint them with a bad association before they will stop coming around again. Simply hosing them with water makes them more wary but does not stop them returning.

Disclaimer: no cats were physically harmed in this incident (mental damage only).

Yes it would, unfortunately my armoury has now been depleted along with license. I will be doing a cross between yours and users ideas. Just been to pick up a air rifle

1362808 2013-12-17 09:08:00 Try placing some cat biscuits on the same area. The cat may not spray where he associates food. Worked in our house when cat used to pee in corners. Emsley (9394)

You have to repeat the spray every day for 5-7 days to break the cat's association with that location (or use the spray to create a barrier to access) , then you can cease spraying because the cat will have given up already. It stopped a neighbour's cat from peeing on our front doorstep, and a week of sprays moved it away from our garden as well.
