1362726 2013-12-15 23:27:00 Greg and 1101 are right. The proven existence of magnetic field reversals on the seabed led to the proof of plate tectonics, which had been only theory until then. When such a reversal does occur, will we still retain the same names for the poles, or will we then be in the northern hemisphere? Richard (739)
1362727 2013-12-16 01:08:00 Outrageous, fancy shifting the North Pole whilst Santa is out doing his delivery’s. :angry B.M. (505)
1362728 2013-12-16 01:44:00 There is 60% more ice at the North pole this year than last. I am more and more convinced that so long as there is money up for grabs you can find a scientist who will produce evidence to say anything you like. Like politicians there are far too many with their snouts so deep in the trough it is not funny. CliveM (6007)
1362729 2013-12-16 02:21:00 Wow! I just saw the South Pole go past my place. It's all stripey like a barber's pole, and has a vanilla ice-cream on the top.

Was it holding up Prince Harry, slurping from a bottle of Glenfiddich?

1362730 2013-12-16 03:10:00 It's a poor article presenting Scientific Theories as facts without any supporting evidence, nevertheless it is quite interesting. I think it's welll established that the icecaps are melting but it's still un proven that it's our greenhouse gases that are responsible, one article I saw suggested CO2 had the exact opposite effect.

The climate change debate is largely pointless, whether it's happening or not and is wholely natural or caused by us doesn't matter.
We should strive to pollute less and impact the environment as little as possible regardless of if it's causing any change in the climate or not.
If climate change is a nautral occurance we won't be able to do anything about it but that doesn't mean it's ok to treat the planet like a rubbish dump.

If climate change is a natural occurrence we won't be able to do anything about it but that doesn't mean it's ok to treat the planet like a rubbish dump.

Spot on.

1362734 2013-12-16 07:41:00 I remember being taught during map reading lessons about the difference between true north and magnetic north. Maps would show the offset from a magnetic compass to true north. This declination would increase over time. Bobh (5192)

Yes, but now you are trying to save face by changing the argument .

People like myself that have always laughed at the “Global Warming” Spin that was replaced (conveniently) with “Climate Change”, have never supported pollution .

Two entirely different things .

I’m on record of having told the Council that the “Rubbish Dump” (ohhh no, Transfer Station) should be open free of charge during daylight hours so people could dump their rubbish without having to sacrifice a meal .

Not bloody likely .

So the reality is the “Greenies” would sell their soul for money .
