1377877 2014-06-24 09:00:00 anyone else having a connection problem with I.E. and F.F.?
"this page can't be displayed" - I.E.
"server not found" - F.F.
I have internet access, eg I'm online with "pressf1" by typing in the search bar, and the icon in the taskbar, bottom right confirms -
would it be my computer?
right now FF is not functioning but IE is, that's how I got online

IF..you have a nasty virus/malware infection, the virus often removes system restore points .
Run a malware & AV scan.

1377883 2014-06-24 23:33:00 1101 - thanks, I ran MWB, Avast, SuperAntiSpyware, started Restore Points again, last night, then closed down for the night - This morning both FF & IE seem to be okay (touch wood) and the restore point survived - after that I'm at the end of my problem solving, perhaps apart from involving the W7 boot disc, cheers jayal (1291)
1377884 2014-06-25 00:15:00 If the computer has some sort of system corruption the restore points can also not show.

Had that the other day with a W7, the normal system restore was empty, but booting from the repair CD, selecting restore they all were visible and worked fine.

6/24/2014 - 2.52pm -- Windows Update -- critical update
6/24/2014 - 2.42am
my update last night was around 9pm, showing 2.42am. Maybe that W update caused the problem. Make any sense?

1377886 2014-06-25 01:25:00 Wouldn't be the first time a Windows update has caused problems, wont be the last either ;)

Check your time/Date on the PC as well, if I read your last line correctly.
