1377554 2014-06-20 04:46:00 Hi Guys,
Just trying to download VLC Media Player and AVG intercedes and says
"Blocked several treats,
found MalSign.Zula... infected
MalSign.OptimizerPro.781 infected.

Does anyone know if these are real treats or is AVG just being super careful??
I tried googling them without much success
Thanks
Rob

1377555 2014-06-20 05:12:00 What was the source of VLC?

If it wasn't from here (www.videolan.org) I'd get rid of it and get it from there.

1377558 2014-06-20 05:49:00 Sounds like you downloaded an installer from CNet or something that came bundled with shitware. Get it straight from the VLC website as Cato says. Agent_24 (57)
1377559 2014-06-20 23:14:00 PC Optimizer Pro is a rogue anti-spyware and you should delete it.

Please download AdwCleaner ('general-changelog-team.fr) by Xplode onto your desktop.

Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.
Click on Clean.
A logfile will automatically open after the scan has finished.
Please post the content of that logfile with your next answer.
You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[R1].txt as well.

1377560 2014-06-21 00:01:00 I think AVG blocked it before he installed whatever file he downloaded Speedy Gonzales (78)

1377562 2014-07-04 21:27:00 People are still using AVG ? Digby (677)
1377563 2014-07-04 22:24:00 AVG actually caught something! :clap

Pity it was just some bundled crapware, rather than detecting an actual virus...
