He performed a haka before Mandela's casket with the blessing of Mandela's grandson. His wife performed a karanga mate or lament. "I did it because it needed to be done," Harawira said. He was taking a message to the Mandela family "on behalf of the people who really cared for him and his struggle against apartheid". Respect for that man. I don't share his beliefs but he was there with the blessing of the family, and what he done means a shitload more then a bunch of weak chinned, suit wearing bitches undertaking some handshakes.
