i need to partition but doing it from the boot disk is no good is ther another way? |

What OS, do you need to preserve data, what programme are you using? booting off XP disK, perhaps? |

xp os, i can back up data onto another drive thats not a problem. when i try and boot off xp disk it tells me that no hard drives have been detected and setup cannot comtinue. so i need to find another way to do this. |

Download a Knoppix Linux disk and use QTParted perhaps? Otherwise shell out for Partition Magic |

You can use a Linux distro to partation the HD then stop the process after the partationing and before the install. |
