314855 2005-01-16 20:35:00 I am getting a number of worms (Lovesan Etc) in the Windows System 32 folder. How can I stop these getting into my computer and once there how do I remove them I use Kaspersky Anti Virus and Zone Alarm as a firewall Thanks norrol (2154)
314856 2005-01-16 20:41:00 A bit late with trying to stop them. You already have them.

Does Kaspersky scan folders ?? I would try that. If it does, it should detect and remove the worms.

Otherwise, go here vil.nai.com

Download this and run it. It should remove, whatever if it knows what worms you've got.

Or here http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ Do an online scan. This takes a while tho, if you're on a slow connection.

314857 2005-01-16 20:49:00 The lovescan worm is an old one. Your Kaspersky should be able to remove it if it managed to detect it in the first place. Do you keep your antivirus software fully updated with definitions? Have you installed all the Microsoft Security patches for your OS via Windows Update? Jen (38)
314858 2005-01-16 21:08:00 To add to the above posters, your main way to stop a lot of these, is be careful what e-mails you accept and open. Lovesan is spread via e-mail. Use something like Mailwasher (www.pcworld.com) to list what is on the mailserver , and you can choose to delete unknown mail before downloading it into your computer. pheonix (36)
