314825 2005-01-16 09:51:00 I have used Early Bird program for appointments since I first got it. Superior, faster, easier to learn, completely reliable it makes every other appointments program I have looked at seem grotty. But using Win XP I find I can only get it in a small screen with poor fonts and it is slow to install. Any advice to correct this would be appreciated - I have tried the usual - properties - compatiblity etc with no joy. Perhaps there is another program out there as good - I am not a business man just an old pensioner who no longer needs his computer for work but I have numerous things I want to keep in my appointments listings, eg birthdays, car maintenance and licensing, actions to be taken x weeks or months or years in the future. 314826 2005-01-16 20:05:00 Hi Thomas

I've had a look for that program called "Early Bird" to see if their help/support has any comments on your problem, but I cannot find the developers homepage. Do you have a link for it?

Failing that, there are other products available that should do what you want. First up is the opensource project from Mozilla called Sunbird (www.mozilla.org). It is still under going developement but can by used as a standalone product if you don't have Firefox (browser) or Thunderbird (email client). Have a look at the screenshots (www.mozilla.org) and see if it looks like what you want.

I can't recommend any other product from personal experience, but Tucows has these programs which are freeware and were given good ratings that you might wish to also look at:

A Simple Diary 3.0.0.1 (www.tucows.com)

Electronic Assistant Professional 2004v45 (www.tucows.com)

Hopefully others can give you some more suggestions based on personal experience :)

314827 2005-01-16 20:34:00 I just found this program www.vellosoft.com

Its free, deals with appts / reminders.

And I think u can make it run when Windows start. To remind u of whatever.

It uses a Mac like interface....It looks pretty basic. Just add a date etc
