315535 2005-01-18 17:54:00 Hi.....my friend has a new pc and when he recieves a phone call the thing starts up. Obviously this stops when the pc is disconnected from the phone line. Has anyone heard of this happening
Cheers in advance

315536 2005-01-18 18:29:00 Check the BIOS for a "Wake on Modem" option and turn it off. PaulD (232)
315537 2005-01-18 18:40:00 If you can't find "wake on modem" in the BIOS then it may be "wake on ring" Elephant (599)

315539 2005-01-18 22:54:00 For future reference if people search this thread:

Once you've changed it in the BIOS, if you need to test it yourself without getting other people to ring or use mobile, you could always ring 137. Once you hear it ringing, hand up, and your phone should ring

But that is freaky aye if you don't know about it...
