2005-01-18 02:00:00 You haven't told us anything about your computer. Does it have on-board sound? You normally only need a separate sound card if you have problems with the quality or performance of your on-board sound. PaulD (232)
2005-01-18 02:02:00 wats an on-board sound? sry for being a newbie ^^ Naruto (6904)
2005-01-18 02:06:00 Have a look at the back of your pc case. If theres a pink/green/ blue sockets. Thats the soundcard. If u dont see these sockets, u dont have a soundcard. Speedy Gonzales (78)
2005-01-18 02:08:00 Have you got some sockets ("audio" 3.5 mm jack sockets usually) on the back panel? Words beside them, such as "headphones", "line", "speakers" (and/or symbols) would be a giveaway. ;)

These days, the "speaker" output will require "amplified" speakers (ones with a an builtin amplifier ... they'll have a volume control and some way of getting power).
