315970 2005-01-19 22:47:00 I am really suffering from this problem. i have posted about this problem earlier but haven't got good response.
The problem is whenever i click right click mouse button on the desktop the screen refreshes itself and sometimes shows me this message below-

explorer.exe- Application Error
The instruction at "0*101302c8" referenced memory at "0*0000000".The memory could not be written.
Click on oK to terminate the program
Click on cancel to debug the program

I have tried both but nothing good happens. There is nothing wrong with the mouse its xp compatitible and quite new. The problem actually started after insatlling xp pro in my machine i previously had win me in which the mouse worked alright. Please help.

315971 2005-01-19 22:54:00 Hey Polo,

Do you have another user account on your system?

If not, I would like you to create another user and test that user and see if the same thing happens, if not then it's quite possibly an error with the user settings and not the actual mouse.

When you installed XP Pro, was it upgraded or clean/fresh install?

What is the mouse in question? Brand/Model/Port Type etc

Have you applied all the latest Service Packs and updates? Have you tried the latest mouse drivers for your mouse.

Cheers,

Kame

315972 2005-01-19 23:08:00 i have only 1 account in my system but i will add 1 more and try then. My system was upgraded to xp pro with no backup of me. There was no error or problem in installation.
My mouses's brand is elite. I bought it from warehouse staitonery. Model is LE3003C it is PS/2 port. My machine uses the microsoft ps/2 mouse driver for this device. the driver date is 1/7/01 i don't know how to upgrade it. My pc is updated with SP 2 and latest patches.

315973 2005-01-19 23:46:00 One of the programs you have installed on your PC, that has an option on the menu that pops up when you right-click on the desktop, is causing this error.
It will be incompatible with SP2
I had the same problem after I put on SP2 with Dr Divx.

315974 2005-01-20 02:58:00 I had the same problem after an upgrade - can you create new folders - or does this cause the same thing - I did a complete reformat and re-install - and can still not create new folders nor can I "right click" to cut and paste - but I have now got access to My computer and Windows explorer - so at least I'm able to drag and drop.
Will be interested in your outcome.

315977 2005-01-20 20:16:00 Is your XP a copy or an original? Shaun2005 (6384)

Have you tried to install the XP compatible drivers for your mouse?
I'll suggest you to uninstall the existing mouse drivers from the Add or
Remove Program, then download and install the latest XP drivers from the
mouse manufacturer's website. If XP drivers is not available from the mouse
website, just uninstall the drivers and then reboot, let XP install the
native mouse drivers. (find the brand (Elite and the model (If possible
on the bottom of that mouse). Then do a search for it in Google, or Yahoo.

See if u can find the maker's site.

And the other said this

support.microsoft.com

It might be something in msconfig, thats conflicting with the mouse
once you get into Windows.
