| 315939 | 2005-01-20 04:18:00 | LXXXVIII: when you get back, honestly try and get one of those new bios chips, i would rather pay 30-50 bucks using my credit card over the net than $250 for a new motherboard, wouldnt you? | Prescott (11) | ||
| 315940 | 2005-01-20 05:31:00 | Hey. There may still be life, don't give up just yet!. I had a similar problem, and i ended up getting a replacement BIOS from the UK for $30. Check the link Prescott gave u eariler for full details. Few things tho: 1) Does the baord have 2 BIOS chips? if so, u should be fine 2) Is the BIOS chip a removalable one? if so, u will be able to get a replacement, just pop it in, and away u go. 3) have u tried clearing teh CMOS? check ya manual, usually have to chnage a jumper, and/or take out the battery. Cheers |

| 315942 | 2005-01-20 09:22:00 | Hi I had the same prob with an FIS board and my local computer guy took out the bios chip sent down to the agents in Ch Ch (i am in Nelson) back 2 days later all reflashed (set) and all working again. The USA agents I downloaded the flash from gave me a full refund no questions asked US$29-95 after offering a new chip for US$10 plus freight which I turned down. So there is hope.. |
