| 315733 | 2005-01-19 08:53:00 | after deleting a partition on a hard drive, I now find that both my cd writer and my DVD Writer are now not working and showing missing drivers. I have the drivers, but of course they are on cd and the cd writers are not working. How can I install the drivers :confused: | keohane (6911) | ||

Choices..... use a recovery program and recover the deleted partition assuming you haven't overwritten it. Shut down the pc, unplug the rom drives, reboot and remove from the device manager, shut down, reconnect the drives and reboot, Windoz should redetect the drives and install the drivers |

| 315737 | 2005-01-19 10:09:00 | CD Rom / DVD Rom drives as a rule with the ATAPI interface don't require a driver as such, windows uses a bog standard one. How are your rom drives connected to your computer? A IDE cable B USB in an external case C 1394/Firewire in external case B or C would require a driver...... |
